Collections

With more than 125,000 artifacts in our collection, the Sloan Museum’s collection ranges from prehistoric stone implements to antique textiles and prototype automobiles. The Museum’s arrowheadsPerry Archives house an extensive collection of photographs and papers that document Flint and Genesee County’s rich history since 1835. A collection of Buick engineering papers, service manuals and sales literature are a help to the car restorer, and local cemetery and funeral home records are used by the genealogists regularly. The archives are not open to the public, but researchers can view the information in research center by appointment by calling (810) 237-3440. Volunteers from the Flint Genealogical Society are available to assist researchers on Wednesdays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
